AI-generated code

Code can now be produced far faster than anybody can meaningfully review it.

That moves the bottleneck. Writing software used to be the slow part; now checking it is, and the checking is what catches the flaw. The risk is not that generated code is unusually bad, it is that the volume tempts people to skim. A hundred lines somebody wrote themselves gets read carefully. A thousand lines that appeared in seconds and look reasonable often do not, and reasonable-looking is exactly what these models are good at producing.
