CVE
A CVE number is a catalogue reference, so that everybody discussing a particular flaw knows they are discussing the same one.
That is its entire purpose. It is not a severity rating, not a judgement about whether it matters to you, and not a to-do item. Having a CVE only means somebody described it and it was assigned an identifier. Systems that treat the presence of a CVE as the trigger for urgent work generate an enormous amount of activity with very little relationship to actual risk.
