Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed baseline of five technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection and patching.

It is deliberately narrow and deliberately achievable, aimed at the attacks that affect everybody rather than at sophisticated ones. Meeting it will not stop a determined adversary and it removes you from a very large pool of easy targets, which for most organisations is where the risk actually is.
