Injection

Injection happens when something a user typed gets treated as instructions instead of as data.

The application meant to ask a question with your input inside it. Instead, your input changed what the question was. It is the same root cause across a whole family of attacks, in databases, in operating system commands and now in AI prompts. The fix is nearly always the same in principle: keep the instruction and the data in separate lanes, so that no amount of clever text can move from one to the other.
