Remote access

Remote access has been moving from granting somebody a network to granting them an application.

The old model put a device onto the internal network and trusted everything after that. The newer one checks the user and the device on each request and connects them to one specific thing. It is a considerably smaller grant, and it is why VPN replacement has been a theme for several years rather than a fashion.
