Engineering workstations

The workstation used to programme controllers holds more effective power over the process than almost anything else on site.

It has the software, the project files, the credentials and the network access to change what the plant does. It is also frequently an ordinary Windows machine, running old software that cannot be updated, sometimes with internet access. It deserves the protection given to a domain controller and rarely receives it.
