Passkeys
A passkey replaces your password with something your phone or computer holds and proves on your behalf, usually unlocked by your face or fingerprint.
The important difference is that nothing secret gets sent to the website, so there is nothing to steal, guess or accidentally type into the wrong place. A passkey is also tied to the real website's address. If a convincing fake asks for it, your device simply does not recognise the site and will not respond. That is a genuinely different kind of protection from a password or a texted code, both of which will work perfectly well for whoever is holding out their hand.
