Password managers

A password manager remembers a different password for every account, so you do not have to.

People often balk at putting everything in one place, and the instinct is reasonable, but the comparison matters. The alternative is not perfect memory, it is reusing the same password everywhere, which means one leak anywhere unlocks everything. Concentrating your passwords on purpose is the better of the two trades. The two things worth thinking about are the master password, which needs to be long and unique, and how you would get back in if you lost it, because that recovery route is a way in for somebody else too.
