Online shopping
When buying from somewhere you do not know, the protection that actually matters is how you pay.
The website can look however it likes. What decides whether you get your money back when the parcel never arrives is the payment method sitting behind it, and they differ enormously. A credit card gives you the strongest recourse in the UK. A bank transfer to somebody you have never dealt with gives you very little, which is exactly why a seller who insists on one should give you pause. Pay in a way that lets somebody else argue on your behalf.
