Scams

Almost every scam, whatever the story, is built from the same three parts. A believable reason to be contacting you. A reason it has to happen now. And a way of paying that cannot be undone.

The stories change constantly, which is why trying to memorise them never works. The shape does not. Once you recognise the shape, an unfamiliar script stops mattering: a bank that says your money must move to a safe account today, a relative whose new number needs money urgently, a tradesman who only takes transfers. Slow it down and one of the three parts always breaks. Nothing genuine collapses because you called back in an hour.
